Built from experience on both sides of the podium.
Hi, I’m Alexis Sherman.
I found my way into public speaking the hard way. A lifelong blusher, I turned bright red whenever I was put on the spot, and I joined Toastmasters to learn to communicate through it. There I earned my Competent Communicator and Competent Leader designations, served as club president, and won regional level competitions in Table Topics (impromptu speaking) and Evaluations (giving feedback on speeches). Along the way I learned that confidence isn't the absence of nerves. It's knowing how to handle the unpredictable without shutting down.
My career gave me the other half. As a leader at an advertising agency, I sat in the room for countless client pitches and internal presentations where the goal was to win people over. I built the decks, led the teams, and saw what separates presentations that persuade from those that don't.
For the past ten years, Impressus has put both experiences to work. I coach subject matter experts, sales professionals, and senior leaders through keynotes, pitches, and high-stakes presentations. My clients struggle with confidence, filler words, or drifting from the script when a new slide appears. Each engagement is built around the individual: I learn what a speaker wants to improve, listen to them present, and combine exercises, practice, and, when it helps, a rewrite that makes the speech more compelling and more like them.
